VOID ART, a duende broadside from 1981

                VOID ART

Art without a bombshell in its wake
is useless.
Useless art is boring—
it does nothing for you
but sits there, taking up space.

Space that takes up too much space is a void.

Nobody likes Void Art.

Void Art is a rubber stamp used by dadaist supremists.

The dadaists are all joking in their graves,
they’ve had so much effect.

They were kind Hitlers
getting rid of useless art.

Art should change man’s brain into a sieve.

He should go around thanking bathtubs for their existence.

But in the common now, the everyday Reagan goon dream
the goons take over and laugh their Bozo balls off.
Theyve got us by the twist of the neck
dropping us into their cocktail glass.
Endless hours before the monitor TV
watching the progress of God
coming back, doing his goon spasm.

Non-God is neo-art.
Neo-art is the death spasm of dadaists
for theirs was the new art
and now no art can be new.
